From around the corners of Yorkshire came 8 teams of Elite Athletes, all with one thing on their mind…Who would be crowned “Our World Cup” Champions
Teams from Derbyshire Building Society (Italy), Iris (Germany), Creative Farm (England), WPA (Mexico), Working Links (Holland) and ProCo (Brazil & Argentina) joined us on what turned out to be a great night of local football and a bad night of internationals!
This year there was a twist, with Fans being asked to don their countries colours with a prize going to the best supported team! Despite a great effort of the ProCo girls showing off their “Brazilian” style, it was “Edgar David” who took the prize for the Dutch!
Back with the Football, following a very competitive group stage, the final was played between the “Inter ProCo cup winners and finalists of 2008” The Derbyshire Building Society (Italy) & Iris (Germany)!
Yet again, the boys in blue showed there worth and took another title.
Fans and players alike then flocked into the bar to watch the England Game against Algeria…the rest, unfortunately, is history!
